Puthukkudiyiruppu Madya Maha Vidyalaya After De-mining Work Back to Life

68 Division troops in Puthukkudiyiruppu enabled school-goers in newly resettled areas under Puthukkudiyiruppu Divisional Secretariat to resume their education after re-opening the Puthukkudiyiruppu Madya Maha Vidyalaya upon completion of de-mining work in the area a few days ago.

682 Brigade troops soon after the green signal was received from those de-miners in the area conducted a collective Shramadana campaign and renovated all the class rooms in this school which remained hitherto abandoned since de-mining work was on in the area.

Brigadier K.P.A Jayasekara, General Officer Commanding, 68 Division who took the initiative in this regard ceremonially opened the school and started its sessions with 102 children and 19 teachers amidst a large gathering of civilians and parents. The move, seen as an attempt to further promote and foster civil life in the area, came in for praise of the resettled public.

Arrangements have also been made by 68 Division to get down more and more school accessories to the reopened school and students attending classes.
