Psy Ops Goes to SFHQ –West for Awareness Programme

One more awareness programme on ‘Illegal Social Activities’ was conducted by the Directorate of Psychological Operations of the Army at the Security Force Headquarters-West (SFHQ- West) during January 17 -19.

The second phase of the series of awareness programmes is focused on Army personnel, serving at Battalion and Brigade levels at the Security Force Headquarters- West (SFHQ- West).

A total of 144 Army personnel, including 04 officers and 140 other ranks participated in the programme which was conducted at the 9 Gemunu Watch Headquarters, attended by 248 Army personnel including 10 officers and 236 other ranks of the 581 Brigade.

Apart from that, 180 Army personnel including 05 officers and 175 other ranks participated in the respective programme at the 4 (Volunteer) Corps of Engineer Service at its auditorium.

Lecture assistance to the programme was provided by the Sri Lanka Army Mental Health Unit, Directorate of Legal and the Alcohol and Drug Information Centre (ADIC) with the coordination of the Directorate of Psychological Operations.

Major U.P Mallawarchchi, Captain Reshan Uduvilage, Captain Surangi Nanayakkara and Captain Dulanjali Siriwardena of the Directorate of Legal conducted lectures, together with Mr. Amaranaththenna, Mr. Asitha Fonseka of the ADIC conducted the lectures during the awareness programme.
