Progress of Newly Resettled Families Reviewed

A meeting, attended by Commissioner General for Essential Services, District Secretary for Vavuniya, Divisional Secretaries, Director, Ministry of Finance (National Budget), Coordinator for Ministry of Education, Health Administrators, Commissioner General of Agriculture Development, officials of Road Development Authority, irrigation engineers and several state officials who gathered at the 56 Division Headquarters, Kokkeliya, Vavuniya on Thursday (13), reviewed the progress of the resettled villages and livelihood programmes.
 
The meeting presided by Major General Boniface Perera, Commander, Security Force Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W) explored possibilities for further assisting them with the supply of essential items.
 
Afterwards, all the state officials visited the resettled villages of Nandimithragama, Namalgama, Selalihinigama and Bogaswewa carrying some relief items. As a helping hand for construction of their additions to the existing houses, steps were taken to give them eight more cement bags and twelve tin sheets during the tour.
 
The visiting officials also spoke to newly resettled civilians and inquired into their well-being.
