Prime Minister Speaks to Tri-Service &;amp; Police Personnel in Jaffna


Prime Minister Hon.  Ranil Wickramasinghe during his visit to the Jaffna peninsula on Saturday (28) called at the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J), Sri Lanka Air Force Station, Palali and Northern Naval Command Headquarters, Kankasanthurai and spoke to a representative gathering of tri-service personnel and the Police.

At the SFHQ-J the Prime Minister during his first visit to a military headquarters complex as incumbent Prime Minister spoke to about 2000 officers and other rankers of the tri-services and the Police after his lunch at the SFHQ-J.

Together with the visiting Commander of the Army, Lieuenant General Crishanthe De Silva, Major General Nandana Udawatta, Commander, SFHQ-J received the Prime Minister at the SFHQ-J.

Governor for Northern Province Mr. H.M.G.S. Palihakkara, Minister of Resettlement, Reconstruction and Hindu Religious Affairs Mr. D. M. Swaminathan, Commanders of the Air Force, Inspector General of Police and senior government officials also attended the gatherings in Jaffna.

Earlier on March 23, Hon. Prime Minister, along with President Maithripala Sirisena visited Jaffna and handed over deeds of lands under the resettlement programme.
