President Rajapaksa Inaugurates 'Construct 2010' Exhibition at BMICH

The mega construction exhibition ‘Construct 2010’ with more than 225 exhibition stalls at BMICH Sirimavo Bandaranaike complex was ceremonially declared open Friday (13) morning by HE the President Mahinda Rajapaksa. 

The event organized by the National Construction Association of Sri Lanka (NCASL) to coincide with its 10th anniversary mirrors the new innovative techniques and modern construction designs with special emphasis on cost effectiveness and durability.
    
President Rajapaksa as Chief Guest for the occasion, in the company of Minister for Construction, Engineering Services, Housing and Common Amenities Mr Wimal Weerawansa, Deputy Minister, Lasantha Alagiywanna, Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya, Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Thisara Samarasinghe, Chairman, NCASL Mr Shriyanatha Perera and a gathering of distinguished guests, declared open the ‘Construct-2010’ Exhibition.  

President Rajapaksa with Army and Navy Chiefs afterwards visited three exhibition stalls on display by Sri Lanka Army and the Navy where he showed an interest and made inquiries. The Army stalls were replete with miniature models, including the construction of the proposed 10 storied military hospital complex, completion of the Diyagama Mahinda Rajapaksa Stadium, full renovation of the Maligawatta R. Premadasa (Keththarama) stadium and several other mega projects that have been undertaken by Sri Lanka Army Engineer Services Regiment (ESR) and Field Engineers.   

The exhibition is open to the public for 4 days between 13 - 16 August 2010. A brief meeting that followed the inauguration was addressed by Mr. Sriyanatha Perera, Chairman, NCASL.
