Photography & Video Camera Course No -14 of Media Directorate Begins

Training-oriented ‘Still Photography & Video Camera Course No -14’ of the Directorate of Media of the Army commenced Friday (10) morning at the Army Camp in Ratmalana after a brief ceremony.

28 potential photographers and videographers who are interested in the field, representing island-wide Army formations during the one-month long training course would receive basic training in ‘technical aspects’, ‘science & art of photography & videoing’, ‘discipline behind photographing’, ‘commercial photography & professionalism’, ‘professional and social photography’, ‘significance of a photo & legal frame work’, etc.

The course also enables the attendees to undergo several outdoor practical sessions at places, like the Vihara Mahadevi Park, Galle Face Green, Diyatha Uyana, Parliament Grounds, etc.

Brigadier Roshan Seneviratna, Director Media in his opening remarks to the inaugural occasion of the course underlined the importance of gaining this professional knowledge since it would assist the followers after their retirement, too.

Mr. Sisira Wijesinghe, Media Advisor to the Sri Lanka Army delivered the introductory lecture at the inauguration and explained the mammoth nature of this professional sphere.

Colonel Manoj Lamahewa, Colonel Media at Directorate of Media, Lieutenant Colonel Duminda Fernando, Staff Officer I and the Course Coordinator, Major Sujith Marasinghe were present during the opening ceremony.
