A visiting delegation of the Czech Republic during a tour to the Jaffna peninsula met Major General Mahinda Hathurusinghe, Commander Security Forces Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J) on Wednesday (21).
Major General Hathurusinghe during the brief meeting with them explained the Army’s diverse roles in the post-war Jaffna and reconciliation efforts.
The Jaffna Commander further told them that the Army at this moment has thrown their full-weight behind the government’s development programmes in Jaffna and simultaneously has been helping civilians in various ways to improve their economy, education, culture and health.
MP and Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee Mr. David Vodrazk, MP and Deputy Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee Mrs. Katerina Konecna and six other MPs and diplomats were associated with the delegation.
