Pakistan’s NDU Delegation During Courtesy Call Learns More About ‘Humanitarian Operations’

Head of a 21-member military delegation from Pakistan’s National Defence University (NDU), currently in Sri Lanka as part of their study cum familiarization tour in Sri Lanka, called on the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Crisanthe De Silva at the Army Headquarters Monday (24) morning.

Commodore Shahid Sohail Rao, Head of the Delegation during the courtesy call on the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Crisanthe De Silva was keen on learning more about the successful completion of humanitarian operations before May 2009 and post-conflict developments in the Army with special focus on modernization and ongoing reconciliation efforts.

Towards the end of the meet, exchange of mementos took place between the visiting delegate and the Commander of the Army as tokens of goodwill.

An official of the Directing Staff at NDU, Colonel Mohammed Rajil Irshad Khan, Defence Attaché at the High Commission of Pakistan, Major General Piyal Wickramarathne, Director General General Staff (DGGS), Major General Priyantha Jayasundara, Military Secretary (MS) and Brigadier G.V Ravipriya, Director Training were also associated with the occasion.

The visiting delegation afterwards learnt more about ‘Army Humanitarian Operations & New Developments’ during a separate presentation, made by Brigadier G.V Ravipriya, Director Training at the conference hall.
