Pakistan’s National Defence University Delegates Meet Chief of Staff

A 21-member delegation of Pakistan’s National Defence University (NDU), led by Major General Fayyaz Hussain Shah, currently visiting Sri Lanka on a familiarization tour had an interactive meeting with Major General Dampath Fernando, Chief of Staff representing the Commander of the Army at the Army Headquarters on Monday (16).

The delegation, comprises of Senior Officers from Pakistan’s Armed Forces, Civil Services and Officers from Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and China, all of them undergoing the National Security and War Course at Pakistan’s NDU.

During the cordial meeting, Major General Fayyaz Hussain Shah, Head of the delegation expressed his gratitude to the Sri Lankan Army Chief for inviting them here for interactive discussions which highlighted the intellectual capacity and the military importance in addressing issues and other matters of current relevance and concern in the region.

Towards the culmination of the discussion, Major General Dampath Fernando on behalf of the Commander and Major General Fayyaz exchanged mementos of goodwill and memory.

During their visit, the delegates will meet senior members of the Armed Forces including the Chief of Defence Staff, Commanders of Navy and Air Force and several heads in the civil sector.

Major General Aruna Wanniarachchi, Director General Training (DGT) at the Army Headquarters and Lieutenant Colonel Sheron Molligoda, Staff Officer I, DCOS Office were associated with the meeting.
