Pakistan Army’s Logistic Commandant Calls on Chief of Staff

Chief of Staff, Major General Amal Karunasekara, representing the Commander of the Army, this morning (8), extended a warm welcome to the visiting Brigadier Kashif Zafar, Commandant of the Army School of Logistics in the Pakistan Army and his delegation at the Army Headquarters.

Chief of Staff of the Army extending greetings on behalf of the Commander exchanged views on the progress of ongoing training programmes and inquired into implementation of various decisions, taken earlier and other matters of interest to both organizations.

The visiting delegates during the brief meeting thanked the Army Commander for facilitating their visit to Sri Lanka as a part of their familiarization in the region and recalled historic relations that prevail between both organizations.

The friendly meet culminated with reciprocal exchange of mementos between the Chief of Staff of the Army and the Head of the Pakistan Army delegation.

During their stay in Sri Lanka, the visiting delegation will discuss continuous process of doctrinal development, logistic modules, promotion of bilateral military cooperation and other matters of concern with their Sri Lankan Army counterparts. The visit also aims at collecting an overall picture of the logistic policies of the Sri Lankan Army and explores possibilities of exchanging technicalities with each other.

In addition, the visiting delegates are scheduled to call on the Commandant, School of Logistics in Trincomalee, Brigadier Deepal Wanniarachchi and a few more senior officers.

Pakistan High Commission’s Defence Attaché in Sri Lanka, Major General Vijitha Ravipriya, Director General Army Training and the Liaison Officer were associated during this meet at the Office of the Chief of Staff.
