Pakistan’s Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), General Zubair Mahmood Hayat, NI (M) currently in Sri Lanka on a four-day official visit, paid his respect to the sacred Sri Dalada Maligawa and visited a few places of tourist interest in Kandy on Friday (29).
The Commander, Security Forces – Central, Major General Rukmal Dias and General Officer Commanding, 11 Division, Major General Tissa Nanayakkara welcomed the Pakistan delegation on arrival at the Maligawa premises.
Delegates were later conduced to the inner chamber of the Sri Dalada Maligawa, Peradeniya Botanical garden and Nuwara Eliya Golf Club, etc.
General Zubair Mahmood Hayat, the 17 CJCSC of Pakistan who is here on an invitation extended by the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Admiral Ravindra C. Wijegunaratne met several VIPs during his stay here.
Meanwhile, he laid floral wreaths and saluted the National War Hero Memorial at Battaramulla during a brief ceremony on Saturday (30).
