Outgoing SLSC Colonel Commandant Saluted in Military Parade

Sri Lanka Signal Corps (SLSC) troops bade farewell to their outgoing Colonel Commandant, Major General K.R.P Rowel on Saturday (15) on the eve of his retirement after and illustrious service of more than 35 years in the Army.

The ceremony was formally held in keeping with military traditions at the SLSC Regimental Headquarters premises in Panagoda.

The commencement of the ceremony started with the ceremonial Guard Turnout awarded to him at the main entrance. Then, the Colonel Commandant laid a floral wreath at the Regiment Monument paying obeisance to the fallen heroes of the SLSC who have made the supreme sacrifice for the motherland, followed by accepting the salute in the Regimental Parade of all regular and volunteer units together with the School of Signals.

The day’s event was also comprised of addressing of the Senior NCOs, courtesy mid-tea offered at the Warrant Officers’ and Sergeants’ Mess, the discussion with senior Officers, the All Rank Lunch and handing over of the responsibilities.
