Outgoing Indian & Chinese Defence Attachés Pay Courtesy Calls on Commander of the Army

The outgoing Defence Attachés of the High Commission of India for Sri Lanka and People’s Republic of China for Sri Lanka this afternoon (30) made courtesy calls separately on the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva at the Army Headquarters.

Captain Prakash Gopalan, Defence Attaché of the High Commission of India at first called on the Commander and bade farewell after tenure of 3 years of diplomatic service in Sri Lanka.

Captain Gopalan also recalled the memories of his service in Sri Lanka and particularly the support, extended by the Commander of the Army and his senior officers for execution of his duties.

Meanwhile, the outgoing Defence Attaché at the People’s Republic of China Embassy in Colombo also paid courtesy call on the Commander of the Army this afternoon (30) together with the New Defence Attaché - designate.

The outgoing Chinese Defence Attaché, Senior Colonel Li Chenglin and Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva exchanged views and pleasantries during the farewell meeting.

Towards the end of both interactive meetings the outgoing envoys exchanged mementoes of goodwill and appreciation.
