Outgoing Commander of the Navy Meets Army Commander

The outgoing Commander of the Navy, Admiral Sirimevan Ranasinghe this morning (31) paid a courtesy call on the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake at the Army Headquarters on the eve of his departure after completion of his tenure in the Navy.

On his arrival at the Army Headquarters, a ceremonial Guard Turnout greeted him in accordance with military traditions after the Army Headquarters Battalion Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Pradeep Gamage received him.

Afterwards, the visiting Commander of the Navy was invited to inspect the parade by Major General Shavendra Silva, Adjutant General of the Sri Lanka Army in accordance with customary military traditions.

A Guard of Honour, considered as the highest military respect that could be accorded, presented a salute to the visiting Commander of the Navy. Troops of the Gemunu Regiment presented the salute.

At the foyer to the Commander’s Secretariat, Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake welcomed the outgoing Commander of the Navy and introduced him to the Principal Staff Officers in the Army, where the Chief of Staff, Deputy Chief of Staff, Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force Commandant, Director General Infantry, Adjutant General, Director General Finance Management, Quarter Master General, Master General Ordnance, Military Secretary and Director General General Staff were present.

Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake thanked the outgoing Commander of the Navy for his close coordination with the Army during his tenure and his cooperation all the time.
