Orientation Programme for the Army Retirees

An orientation programme for Army personnel expecting to retire from the Army within next two years began at the Non Commissioned Officers Training School (NCOTS), Kalaoya on Monday (30).

The 7-day long orientation programme with the assistance of the National Apprentice and Industrial Authority (NAITA) and Government Training Centre to educate the Army personnel on the importance of Vocational Training and its benefits which is scheduled to begin in January 2016. 

Brigadier K.D.C.G.J. Thilakaratne, Commandant, NCOTS addressed the gathering at the opening ceremony. Lieutenant Colonel D. R. N. Hettiarachchi, Commanding Officer NCOTS too participated in the occasion. 

Lecture sessions will be conducted by visiting lecturers that include Introduction and the importance of following courses at NAITA, Alcohol Prevention, Meditation Programme and Improving Mental Concentration, Sanitary Health, Religious Values, Banking and Finance Management, Civil Law and Social Issues, Attitudes and Positive Thinking and Leadership.
