One more segment of about 200 school students, affected in the Salawa blast were awarded school accessories and exercise books on the directions of the Commander of the Army during a simple ceremony, held at the Zone Education Office at Seethawaka on Thursday (11).
The Security Force Headquarters - West (SFHQ-West) organized the donation of those school items under the coordination of Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe, Commander, Security Forces - West (SF-West) with the collaboration of Telshan Network Limited (TNL) and Karandeniya, Medakumbura Maha Vidyalaya, Galle who sponsored the project.
A total of 200 students at the Hanwella Education Zone received those 200 parcels of school accessories with stationery items during the event.
Ms T.S.N.K Dissanayake, Regional Director of Education for Seethawaka was the day’s Chief Guest, together with Mr L.D.S.P Samarathunga, the Principal at President’s College, Awissawella and several senior Army officers and officials at the Zonal Education office at Hanwella, principals, teachers, parents and students of the schools also were present.
