One More O/L Seminar Organized by SFHQ - Mullaittivu for Students Gets Underway

One more educational seminar for Mullaittivu students, sitting the forthcoming GCE O/L examination got underway during 18 - 19 November at Oddusudan Maha Vidyalaya, following an initiative launched by the Security Force Headquarters - Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT).

The arrangement was made on a notion proposed by Major General Dushyantha Rajaguru, Commander, Security Forces - Mullaittivu (SF-MLT) in coordination with the Zonal Education Office and a group of senior lecturers of the National Institute of Education (NIE).

The two-day seminar conducted at Oddusudan Maha Vidyalaya, attended by 171 students, belonging to different schools in the general areas of Mullaittivu, received lectures on Mathematics and Science.

The inaugural ceremony was attended by Brigadier Nishantha Manage, Brigade Commander, 641 Brigade at the SFHQ-MLT, representing the General Officer Commanding. 64 Division, Brigadier Jayanath Jayaweera.

Lectures on Mathematics were delivered by the Senior Lecturer S Rajendran, Assistant lecturer, C Sudeshan of the NIE and other lecturers. The Assistant lecturer, V Rajudevan and Assistance lecturer P Achchudan also delivered lectures.

Mr Pankeselvam, Director Zonal Education for Oddusudan, Mr K Yogeshwaram, principal, teachers, officials in the Divisional Secretariat and students participated at the inaugural ceremony.

Meanwhile, a similar seminar, designed for G.C.E (O/L) candidates was conducted at the Divisional Secretariat office auditorium in Maritimepattu, Mullaittivu on Saturday (18).

115 students in the general area of Maritimepattu, Mullaittivu attended the Seminar where Science and Mathematics subjects were taken up to educate students.

Lectures in the seminar were delivered by a panel of experts, including Mr Muthurasa Sivaneshwaran, Senior Lecturer for Science and Mr R Ariwasa, Senior Lecturer and former principal.

The seminar was facilitated by the 59 Division Headquarters on the instructions of Major General N.D Wanniarachchi, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 59 Division.
