One More Batch Leaves for UN Assignments in Mali

One more batch of 18 members of the Mali-bound Combat Convoy Company (CCC) of the Sri Lanka Army left this evening (9) to assume their roles and tasks in the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission (MINUSMA).

A total of 200 Army personnel, belonging to 10 Regiments of the Army are expected to serve UN assignments for a period of one year in Mali. The first contingent of 150 Army personnel left on 24 December 2017 and the final batch is to leave the island within next 48 hours.

A few Senior Officers were at the airport this evening (9) to see them off.
