Newly-Erected Toddlers’ Park in Orr’s Hill Opened

The new Toddlers’ Park at Orr’s Hill in Trincomalee, built by the troops of the 22 Division under the Security Force Headquarters - East (SFHQ-E) was opened by the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 22 Division, Major General Aruna Jayasekara and vested in the public during a ceremony at Trincomalee on Thursday (15).

In line with the series of community-oriented welfare programmes organized by the Sri Lanka Army, this park was constructed under the guidance of Major General Santhusitha Pananwala, Commander, Security Forces - East (SF-E) under the directions of GOC, 22 Division, Major General Aruna Jayasekara.

During the same occasion, 75 savings accounts were opened for kids in low-income group families in the Trincomalee area by the 22 Division Headquarters thru the coordination done by the People’s Bank Trincomalee. Parents and teachers highly appreciated the efforts made by the Army to build the Park.

Brigade Commander, 222 Brigade, Brigadier Deepal Pussella, Brigade Commander, 224 Brigade, Colonel P Ediriweera, Divisional Secretary Trincomalee, Mr. J.S Arulraj, Assistant Manger People’s Bank, Trincomalee, Mr. N Jayawelwan, Commanding Officers, Officers, teachers, parents, government officials and a large gathering of civilians also participated in the opening event.
