New Wheel Balancing Centre in SFHQ-MLT Opened

The newly-established wheel alignment and wheel balancing section of the 6 Battalion, Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (SLEME) of the Security Force Headquarters – Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) was ceremonially opened by Colonel Commandant, Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers and Director Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Brigadier Duminda Sirinaga on 08 January 2018.

The requirement of such a centre arose due to the absence of facilities for wheel alignment and wheel balancing in and around Mullaittivu and Kilinochchi areas for vehicles of the Security Forces.

To this date, vehicles under the SFHQ-KLN and SFHQ- MLT received this service through private sector local agents and other technicians in Vavuniya and Anuradhapura.

The new centre would spare a considerable sum of money for the Security Forces.

Equipment required for the newly-established section was purchased through the Master General Ordnance Branch and Directorate of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers.
