New Strategies to Channel Welfare Work Explored

A DISCUSSION, aimed at exploring possibilities to well coordinate all welfare roles for War Heroes via one particular channel took place at the Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB) auditorium this morning (21).

The discussion, attended by Military Secretary Major General A.W.J.C De Silva, Medical Advisor Major General S.H Munasinghe, Director Additional Welfare, Brigadier E.G Jayakody and Director Rehabilitation Brigadier R.V Samarathunga was presided by Mrs Manjulika Jayasuriya, President, Seva Vanitha Army Branch.

Discussions were largely centered on implementation of new strategies for welfare work and proper coordination of War Hero housing requirements, provision of special toilet and sanitary facilities, supply of artificial limbs, conduct of War Hero children scholarship programmes and all other multiple welfare schemes that have been in place within the organization.

All welfare work of regimental ladies clubs are also to be brought under one umbrella in the future. It was agreed that a new strategic practice which speedily takes these welfare measures to the War Heroes and their families directly without any interrupting procedures should be forthwith made without any further delay.

All regimental Center Commandants also took part in the discussion.
