New SLCMP Colonel Commandant Assumes Office

Brigadier Gamini Sirisena, Provost Marshal of the Army last week assumed duties as the Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (SLCMP), amidst religious observances at Polhengoda SLCMP Regimental Headquarters.

The newly-appointed 8th Colonel Commandant of the SLCMP was warmly welcomed by the Centre Commandant on arrival at the SLCMP Regimental Headquarters.

A Guard Turnout presented by SLCMP troops in accordance with the military formalities and a tree sapling planting dominated the day’s agenda.

He signed a formal document and signified the acceptance of the office as the Colonel Commandant amid religious blessings. An all rank tea and refreshments brought the brief ceremony to end.
