New SF-East Commander Pays Field Visits to 24 Division, 241 & 242 Brigades

Major General Nandana Senadeera, the newly-appointed Commander, Security Forces - East (SF-E) made his maiden visits to the 24 Division Headquarters, 241 and 242 Brigade Headquarters during April 7 - 8 .

Commander, SF-E first arrived at the 24 Division Headquarters to be received by Brigadier Mahinda Mudalige, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 24 Division before the visiting Commander was greeted to a Guard Turn Out around the main entrance.

Afterwards, he was accorded a Guard of Honour by troops of the 23 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) of the 24 Division in conformity with military traditions. As a symbol of memory, the SF-E Commander was then invited to plant a ‘Mango’ sapling inside the 24 Divisional Headquarters premises.

During the troop address, the Commander SF-E urged them to continue training and good work while maintaining the highest standards of discipline at all levels. Concluding the itinerary of the first day, Major General Nandana Senadeera joined an all rank lunch at the Other Ranks' Mess.

The Commander SF-E on the following day (8), visited the 241 Brigade, 242 Brigade and their under command Battalions. The new SF-E Commander during those visits too were saluted in Guards Turn Out at respective venues after he was warmly welcomed by all the Brigade and Battalion Commanders. He also addressed troops and symbolically planted saplings.

All Brigades Commanders and Battalion Commanders met him and had an opportunity to discuss matters pertaining to administration aspects, operational needs, welfare measures and requirements of the troops during this two-day field visit.
