With the express objective of improving health standards of the people in Kilinochchi and its suburbs, troops serving the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) with the patronage of the Ministry of Health and Rotary Club of Kuliyapitiya, put up the new community project, ‘Harmony Healthy Life Style Centre’ at the Kilinochchi Harmony Centre.
The ‘Harmony Healthy Life Style Centre’ that would provide physical exercise equipment, facilities for provision of medical consultations on regular basis and conduct of specialized medical clinics, would function as a referral medical channeling centre, through which patients could be directed to specialized medical sections upon examination at this centre.
The consultation centre, assisted by the staff at Kilinochchi hospital was established as a proposal of Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe, Commander, SFHQ-KLN with the support of Ministry of Health and Dr. P Vinodan, Regional Director of Health Services, Kilinochchi in order to assist the public to get their ailments and diseases diagnosed before they are referred to specific clinics and departments in the nearest hospitals.
The simple opening ceremony of the new ‘Harmony Healthy Life Style Centre’ was attended by Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe as the Chief Guest together with Dr. P Vinodan, Regional Director of Health Services, Kilinochchi, Dr. (Ms) Shanika Fernando at the Kilinochchi Hospital, members of the Kuliyapitiya Rotary Club, state officials, witnessed the inauguration of this medical centre for civilians who need specialized medical treatment for various medical complications.
