The newly-appointed Quarter Master General (QMG) at the Army Headquarters, Major General Bimal Vidanage assumed duties this morning (17) during a simple ceremony amidst Buddhist religious observances.
The new QMG signed an official document, signifying the assumption of duties of the new appointment.
Several Senior Officers were present at the occasion.
Major General Bimal Vidanage before this appointment was the Commander, Forward Maintenance Area – Kilinochchi (FMA-KLN) of the Army.
He succeeded Major General Sunil Wanniarachchi who retired from service.
