Major General D.K.G.D Sirisena who has been appointed the Commander, Forward Maintenance Area - Kilinochchi (FMA-KLN) during a brief ceremony assumed duties on Monday (14) as the 11th FMA Commander - KLN of the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi.
A formal Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour greeted the new FMA Commander upon his arrival at the Forward Maintenance Area Headquarters premises at Murukkandy in keeping with military traditions.
Afterwards, amid religious blessings, he left his signature for an official document and symbolized the acceptance of his new office. Later, a mango sapling was planted in the camp premises to symbolize the occasion.
An All Rank tea arrangement and a troop address were among other major highlights in the agenda.
