Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake, Commander of the Army paid courtesy calls on the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Jagath Jayasuriya and the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Jayanath Colombage on Monday (19) after Lieutenant General Ratnayake assumed duties as the 20th Commander of the Army on 1 August 2013.
During his meeting with the Chief of Defence Staff, both of them exchanged mementoes as tokens of cooperation and goodwill.
At the Naval Headquarters, the visiting Commander of the Army was greeted with a Guard Turnout presented by naval troops.
Afterwards the Commander met Vice Admiral Jayanath Colombage, Commander of the Navy for formal exchange of views.
Towards the end of the discussion, both of them exchanged mementoes as memories of the meeting.
