Colonel P.G.P.S Rathnayake assumed duties as the Commander of the 623 Brigade amid religious observances on Tuesday (12) during a simple ceremony at the Brigade Headquarters.
He succeeded Colonel Prasanna Gunaratna who was appointed as the Deputy Centre Commandant at the Sri Lanka Artillery Regimental Centre.
A formal Guard Turnout at the entrance presented by 11 Gemunu Watch troops greeted him with military honours.
