With the intention of improving knowledge on Organic Agriculture, Modern Agricultural techniques, etc. among farmers in Nochchiyagama and Rajanganaya areas, a two-week long workshop on Agriculture commenced on Monday (19) at the Non Commissioned Officers Training School (NCOTS) at Kala Oya.
The workshop was organized by the Directorate of Agriculture and Livestock with the assistance of NCOTS on a conceptual guidance given by the Commander of the Army. A total of 28 farmers of the area participated in the workshop.
The opening ceremony was graced by Brigadier K.D.C.G.J Thilakarathne, Commandant, NCOTS, Colonel A.K.A.B Gunarathne, Director Agriculture and Livestock and Lieutenant Colonel D.R.N Hettiarachchi, Commanding Officer, NCOTS.
