One more War Hero commemoration parade was held near the War Heroes Monument in Badulla on Friday (13).
A total of 69 Army personnel, including 4 officers and 65 other ranks gathered with members of the Sri Lanka Navy, Sri Lanka Air Force, Sri Lanka Police, Civil Security Department, state officials and local politicians of the Uva Province participated in the day’s event.
Family members of fallen heroes who sacrificed their lives to restore peace also participated in the ceremony.
Religious observances and floral tributes were accorded to War Heroes by members of the armed forces, Police and Civil Defence Force.
The ceremony was organized by the Governor’s Office of the Uva Province.
Lawyer M. P Jayasinghe, the Governor for Uva Province together with Brigadier K. M. A. A De Silva, Brigadier General Staff (BGS), Security Force Headquarters - West (SFHQ-West) attended as Chief Guests of the day’s event.
