National Narcotics Prevention Week Kite Competition Held

Two kites crafted by Army personnel in each regiment of the Army were produced to a kite competition, organized to mark the National Narcotics Prevention Week Programme (Mathin Nidahas Ratak).

The kite competition was held at the Negombo beach in collaboration with the Presidential Task Force for Drug Prevention, ‘Kite’ Sri Lanka Organisation and the Sri Lanka Rotary Club.

Directorate of Psychological Operations at the Army Headquarters coordinated the event by enabling Army personnel to participate in the competition, on the direction of the Commander of the Army.

The kite crafted by Sri Lanka Engineers won the first place and the second place was won by Corps of Sri Lanka Military Police. 7 consolation prizes out of 10 were won by the Army. A large gathering of children, government officials and civilians took part in the arrangement.
