Murali Harmony Cup Tournament Ends with Impressive Records

        
Murali Harmony Cup Tournament that got underway in Jaffna Central College ground with 36 teams, ended on Sunday (01), giving final victories to Colombo Aananda College (Men’s) and Seenigama Women’s Cricket Club.

The 5-day tournament, competed by 36 teams, drawn from all corners of the country, was organized by the Security Force Headquarters-Jaffna with the support of ‘Guna Sathuta Jaya Padanama’ and a few other sponsors.

The finals of the tournament took place between the teams of Colombo Ananda College and Galle Richmond College and the women’s ones between Seenigama Ladies’ club and Badulla Maroons Ladies’ Club.

Major General Udaya Perera, Commander, Security Force Headquarters, Jaffna attended the final match and the closing ceremony as the Chief Guest on Sunday (02).

Sri Lanka National team veterans and former cricketers, like Mr. Rangane Herath, Mr. Michal Tissera supported the conduct of the tournament by being present during separate days.

On the final day ‘Guna, Sathuta, Jaya Padanama’ led by Mr Kushil Gunasekera, donated a large stock of cricket accessories and awarded 30 scholarships  to students at the University of Jaffna  for higher studies to be in parallel with the Murali Harmony CupTournament.

Appreciative tokens were also awarded to several senior officers on the same occasion in recognition of their tireless contribution and efforts for promotion of cricket and organizational capabilities.
