Both Security Force Headquarters – Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT ) and Security Force Headquarters – Wanni (SFHQ-W) had their separate Christmas arrangements organized at SFHQ-level on the eve of X’mas day.
District Secretary - Mullaittivu, together with Major General P.U.S. Vithanage, Commander, SFHQ-MLT and Divisional Secretary- Maritimepattu took part in the programme as guests of honour. Officers, other ranks serving under the Forward Maintenance Area, Mullaittivu (FMA-MLT) and their family members too participated in the ceremony.
A special magic show and melodies rent by the music band of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, accompanied by Sunshine Girls entertained the gathering.
Meanwhile, Rt Rev Dr. Bishop Norbert Andradi, Bishop of Anuradhapura as the Chief Guest graced the X’mas arrangement organized by Major General M.H.S.B. Perera, Commander, SFHQ-W at the SFHQ-W premises in Vavuniya.
The occasion was coloured by 2 Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps (SLAWC) and 4 SLAWC with songs and dancing features.
Pre-school kids in Jesupuram, Asikulam area were given gifts and selected poor families received dry food items from the Commander, SFHQ – Wanni to mark the meaning of Christmas.
Parish priests, Sisters of St. Shephered Church, Medawachchiya, General Officers Commanding, the Commander, Forward Maintenance Area (FMA-North/Central), Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers and all staff officers serving under the SFHQ-Wanni and their family members and civilians of Wanni area witnessed the event.
