Mullaittivu Troops Put Up New Buildings &;amp; Learn English Language

Security Force Headquarters - Mullaittivu (SFHQ- MLT) in the past few days, organized several projects which were of symbolic significance to the SFHQ-MLT.

The first among them was the ceremonial opening of the much-needed new indoor gymnasium at the SFHQ-MLT premises, built by the Engineer Service Regiment (ESR) of the SFHQ-MLT. Major General Jagath Dias, Commander, SFHQ-MLT, the heavyweight behind the successful completion of the construction within a very short period, ceremonially opened the new gymnasium at the auspicious 9.02 a.m. on Thursday (9).

On the same day (9) in the morning, the newly-built visitors’ lounge, adjacent to the main entrance of the SFHQ-MLT was declared open by the Commander, SFHQ-MLT. It was also completed within a matter of few weeks.

Meanwhile, award of proficiency certificates to 35 other rankers who followed the English Language Course, organized by the SFHQ-MLT took place on Thursday (9) at the SFHQ-MLT before a gathering of lecturers and senior officers.

The closing ceremony saw course attendees present their skills in English language through drama, elocution and speeches of different interesting modes as the ceremony got underway.

Major General Jagath Dias as the Chief Guest for above events attended the graduation ceremony too for distribution of those certificates. In a brief speech, Major General Dias underlined the importance of English language for both civil sector jobs and the Army.

A total of 35 other rankers serving Divisions, Brigades and all formations of the SFHQ-MLT, followed the course which was conducted by instructors. This was the second English Language Course conducted by the SFHQ-MLT on behalf of the other rankers.
