More Training Programmes for Army Retirees


The Non Commissioned Officers’ Training School (NCOTS), Kalaoya concluded one more training programme, based on ‘Spiritual Bio-dynamic Traditional Agriculture’ for officers and other ranks who will shortly retire from the service with the support of the ‘Sanasa Nature Farm’ (Sobadaham Govipala) at Ukuwela on Monday (3).

17 Army personnel followed this 4-month long course, intended to further enhance their knowledge on farming and earn an additional income upon retirement. Award of certificates to those Army personnel upon successful completion of their training took place during a ceremony on Monday (3) held at NCOTS main Auditorium, Kalaoya.

Major General Mano Perera, Commander, Army Training Command attended the occasion as the chief guest, together with Mr. K.G.J Abeysooriya, Chairman, ‘Sanasa’, Ukuwela, Mr. Thilak Kandegama, Director General, ‘Nature Farm’, ‘Sanasa’, Ukuwela, Brigadier K.D.C.G.J Thilakaratne, Commandant, NCOs Training School, Brigadier D.M.S Bandara, Brigadier Training, Army Training Command and several other officials from the Anuradhapura Vocational Training Centre.

Afterwards, Major General Perera conducted a field visit to the NCOTS and Lindawewa Camp.
