A stock of school books and accessories, donated by Peliyagoda Lions Club for distribution among remote schools in Manthai East in the 612 Brigade area under 61 Division were given away on Wednesday (12) at Pandiyankulam Primary School.
The brief ceremony at Pandiyankulam Primary School, headed by Brigadier M.M.S Perera distributed those stocks among 86 girls and boys studying in that school.
61 Division has been in the practice of getting support of Lions Clubs for assistance to the students in the recent past after the troops found that many students in remote schools lack such facilities.
The ceremony at Pandiyankulam was attended by Zonal Education Director, Principal, teachers, villagers and several other state officials.
