NORTH: TROOPS during their search and clear operations in the general areas of VISHUAMADU and KARIYALAMODDEI on Sunday (28) recovered one 150 m detonator code, 2 electric detonators, ten claymore mines, fifteen anti personnel mines, three 40 mm grenades, twenty various type of bombs and ammunition, forty-nine Rocket Propeller Grenades (RPG) and six 60 mm mortar bombs.
Meanwhile, during combined search operations conducted by troops and Police in the general area of VELLAMULLIVAIKKAL recovered twenty-one RPGs, one suicide jacket, four Multi Purpose Machine Gun (MPMG) links with five hundred rounds of MPMG ammunition, two MPMG ammunition boxes containing one thousand four hundred and forty rounds of ammunition, seventy-two 12.7 rounds of ammunition, one thousand and two hundred General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG) ammunition, nine Bangalore torpedoes, five T-56 weapons, 20 kg of C-4 explosives, one .22 gun, five I-com communication sets and one Yesu communication set on the same day (28).
In the meantime, a Special Police team conducted a search and clear operation in PUTHUKUDIRIPPU area and recovered four claymore mines, one remote controller, eight electric detonators, two claymore stands, a piece of 2 m long flexible wire and another 2 m long detonator code, the same day (28).
Meanwhile, Police in the east during their search operations in SENAPURA area recovered one RPG, fifteen 40 mm grenades, forty-nine rounds of 12.4 ammunition and five T-56 magazines on the same day (28).
