300 bicycles, gifted by Singaporeans, led by Ven Bellanwila Dhammaratana Nayaka Thero, Advisor, Singapore Buddhist Library and Chief Incumbent, Bellanwila Raja Maha Viharaya, were recently distributed among rehabilitated former combatants, their children and school students in Puthukkuddiyirippu area of the Security Force Headquarters - Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT).
The ceremony at Puthukkuddiyirippu Divisional Secretariat was attended by a large gathering of villagers and Major General L.B.R Mark, Commander, SFHQ-MLT, the donors, Ven Bellanwila Dhammaratana Thero, Northern Provincial Councilor, Ms Mary Kamala, Additional District Secretary for Mullaittivu, C.A Mohan Raaj, 68 Division General Officer Commanding and senior officers.
Those bicycles were distributed by donors and other guests during the ceremony.
