On a conceptual direction given by the acting Chief of Defence Staff & Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, a total of 7 Officers and 60 Other Ranks of 8 Sri Lanka Light Infantry and 2 (V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry on Sunday (9) cleaned up the sacred Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharaya premises as one of the meritorious community project.
Troops under the supervision of the 141 Brigade Commander, together with the cooperation of 141 Brigade HQ actively participated in the project since the sacred premises remained littered with pollutants after the Full Moon Poya Day activities in the temple on the previous day.
