Monks Blessed MIR & Its Troops After Renovation Works at Hqrs

An all-night Pirith chanting ceremony plus alms-giving to monks invoked blessings on Mechanized Infantry Regiment (MIR) Headquarters at Dambuluhalmillawewa on April 29 upon successful completion of several renovation works in the premises. 

Colonel of the Regiment, Major General Kamal Gunaratne, on whose initiative the new renovation works were conducted attended the religious ceremony as the Chief Guest at the invitation of MIR Centre Commandant, Colonel L.S Balachandra.  

The religious ceremony culminated with an alms-giving the following day (30). A photograph of the first Colonel of the Regiment, Major General S.M. De A Rajapaksa was unveiled at the same occasion. 

Major General (Retd) S.M. De A Rajapaksa, senior officers, officers and other ranks attended the occasion.
