In the wake of fast spreading eye infection in the Mannar District, 54 Division Headquarters in cooperation with the office of Mannar District Health Services organized mobile eye clinics at several places.
Those mobile clinics at Vidathalathivu St James Church, Iluppukadavai School, Pandivettuvan School, and Pesalai Provincial Hospital treated more than 600 patients and provided them with medicine.
Troops provided refreshments, lunch and other facilities to the medical staff and all the civilians who attended those clinics.
Brigadier M.A.M Dias, General Officer Commanding, 54 Division, all Brigade Commanders, Mannar Director of Health Services and a large group of medical officers and nursing staff supported the project.
