The day’s Chief Guest, Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva, Commander of the Army commenced the programme raising the Army flag amidst reverberating Magul Bera (auspicious drums).

A Guard Turnout at the entrance to the parade ground greeted him after the Commander was received by Major General Channa Goonethillake, Commandant, Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force.
