Medical Staff at Army Hospital Learn More on Cardiac Issues

Department of Anaesthesiology and Pain Management of the Colombo Army Hospital during another workshop on Friday (2) educated the hospital nurses and paramedics on Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation.

To be in line with the conceptual notion of the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva, this programme got underway for the 22nd time under the guidance of Major General Sanjeewa Munasinghe, Director General, Army Health Services and Colonel Crishanthe Fernando, Director, Army Hospital.

The workshop is conducted every month as a Continuous Medical Education (CME) programme in the establishment in order to educate the medical staff in all spheres of therapy.

To be compatible with worldwide standards of the European Resuscitation Council, Colonel, Dhawala Perera, Head of Anaesthesia Department and Lieutenant Colonel Champika Abeysinghe, Consultant Anaesthetist were instrumental in organizing this workshop.

Major Yasar Pathirana, Dr K.U Madushanka, Dr S Vidyashaharana and Dr C.L Anandarajah trained the attendees for identification of deteriorating patient conditions, meant to prevent cardiac arrest and engage in resuscitation process.
