Medical Campaign at Deegavapiya Temple Treats Retired Army Personnel

Troops of 11 Sri Lanka National Guard (11 SLNG) Battalion and 242 Brigade serving under the  24 Division in the Security Forces Headquarters - East (SFHQ-E) launched a medical campaign and a blood donation programme last Friday (18) at Deegawapiya Temple. 

The aim of this medical camp was to assist Army soldiers including retired ones, their family members and civil community who live in Deegawapiya, Eragama, Hingurana and surrounding areas.

Medical assistance was provided by the staff at the Ampara General Hospital for the event. 

Medical officers and the staff and 5 Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps (5 SLAMC) staff also participated in the campaign. 35 soldiers donated their blood. A total of 623 civilians including retired Army personnel were benefited from the medical clinic.
