Manning Town & Panagoda "Viru Kekulu" Kids Show Colours During Annual Entertainment

The year-end variety entertainment of the students at the Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU) managed Manning Town and Panagoda ‘Viru Kekulu’ pre-schools, showcased aesthetic and artistic skills of the kids on Wednesday (11) at the Colombo Bishop College auditorium. 

Mrs Chathurika Sirisena, the daughter of HE President, together with her husband, Mr Thilina Wewelpanawa at the invitation of Mrs Nayana de Silva, President, ASVU graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

Colourfully dressed kids, symbolic of all ethnicities offering betel sheaves and flower bouquets welcomed the Chief Guest at the entrance to the auditorium. 

The traditional oil lamp-lighting and a welcome speech made by a kid and Mrs Prajeewa Alwis, the ASVU member in charge of pre-schools separately, kicked off the day’s agenda.

Kids of those two pre-schools during the entertainment displayed their artistic skills to a thundering applause of the gathering of parents, invitees and ASVU members who were present at the occasion.  

The event, comprised of Pooja dances, folk songs and dances, drama songs, oriental and western dancing features attracted the attention of the audience. 

Mrs Vasantha Gunewardena, Chairperson, Ministry of Defence (MoD), Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs Nayana de Silva, President, ASVU and ASVU executive committee members, together with parents of Army and civil sector families enjoyed the event.
