Maldivian Defence Chief Calls on Commander of the Army

Major General Ahemd Shiyam, Chief of Defence Force of Maldives National Defence Force called on the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva at the office of the Commander of the Army, Army Headquarters today (07).

Major General Janaka Walgama, Military Secretary welcomed the visiting Chief of Defence Force of Maldives at the entrance to the Commanders’ office.

During the cordial discussion, Commander of the Army and the Maldivian Defence Chief shared thoughts of military history of both countries and exchanged views on matters of bilateral interest and recalled the longstanding relations between Maldives and Sri Lanka.

Maldives Defence Attaché in Sri Lanka also attended the event.

The meeting culminated with exchange of mementoes to mark the visit.
