Major General Ralf Nugera Relinquishes Duties at SFHQ-KLN

A Guard Turn Out and a Guard of Honour saluted Major General Ralph A Nugera, the outgoing Commander, Security Forces - Kilinochchi in accordance with military traditions on Wednesday (27). He relinquished his duties as the Commander Security Forces - Kilinochchi, prior to go on retirement from the Army after a commendable service of more than a few decades.

A ceremonial Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour, presented by troops of 7 Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment serving under the Security Force Headquarters -Kilinochchi presented arms and honoured him the on his arrival at the premises before he was welcomed.

During the military ceremony in the parade ground, the outgoing Commander, Security Force Kilinochchi, symbolizing the formal relinquishment of office, handed over the official flag of the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi to the new Commander, Major General G. Vijitha Ravipriya who was serving the 57 Division. The outgoing Commander afterwards placed his signature in a formal document to symbolize the relinquishment of his office and spoke to his staff in the office.

Later on, Major General Nugera spoke out his mind and delivered his farewell speech to hundreds of troops, commending them for their excellent services and unfailing support given to him by all Officers and Other Rankers in the fulfillment of his duties during his tenure and requested the same to be extended to the incoming Commander in future.

Commander, Forward Maintenance Area - Kilinochchi, General Officers Commanding 57, 65 and 66 Divisions, Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers, senior officers, officers and other ranks were there to bid goodbye to Major General Nugera.
