Major General Prasanna Silva Bids Goodbye to His Regiment

Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment (SLLI) on Thursday (5) bade farewell to one of its proud sons, Major General Prasanna Silva, Military Liaison Officer at the Ministry of Defence who has rendered an exemplary service to both the organization and the country during a formal military ceremony at his Regimental Headquarters, Panagoda on the eve of his retirement from the Army.

A Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour, presented by SLLI troops saluted Major General Silva at the Parade Grounds after he was warmly welcomed by Major General J.R Kulatunga, Deputy Vice Chancellor Defence and Administration at Kotelawala Defence University. 

The charming but the dignified military parade was reviewed by the outgoing Major General Prasanna Silva, accompanied by the Parade Commander in accordance with military traditions. 

A tea party at the SLLI main auditorium held in the morning afterwards enabled the senior outgoing officer to share a few thoughts with senior officers and other rankers present at the occasion. 

A large gathering of senior officers, officers and other rankers were present there to bid him goodbye after an exemplary military career dedicated for the defence of the country.
