Maiden Package Tour of War Hero Family Members to Dambadiva Ready

The Army-managed Air Travel Services (Pvt) Ltd, now fully operational with air travel ticketing to many a world-wide destination, is set to inaugurate its first package tour to the land of Buddha, Dambadiva with thirty pilgrims for the first pilgrmage.

The group comprised of members of War Hero families, set to visit Buddhagaya, Saranath, Benares, Nalanda, Kusinara, Lumbiniya, Kapilawasthupura and a few other places of Buddhist interest  in India, received their tickets Tuesday (02) morning from Mrs Manjulika Jayasuriya, President Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB) during a brief ceremony, held at the SVAB auditorium.

The eight-day tour commencing on Friday (05) costs those pilgrims as low as Rs. 65,000.00 each, including luxurious bus travels, board and lodging, entrance tickets and other facilities. In addition, all travelers are expected to visit the Taj Mahal and New Delhi during the tour.

Mrs Jayasuriya after handing over those tickets to the pilgrims interacted with them and shared a couple of thoughts as this arrangement is going to be a novel experience to the organizers after the Air Travel Services (Pvt) Ltd, owned by the Army was founded in November last year, following an initiative taken by the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya.

Mrs Rani Jayathillake, Secretary SVAB, Major General S.K. Weerasinghe, Brigadier M.K.D. Perera and several other senior officers were present at the occasion.
