Maduruoya Students on Field Visit to KLN

The counter Insurgency and Jungle Warfare - Junior Command Course No 16, of the Maduruoya Army Training School comprised of 22 local Officers and 3 Foreign Officers (Bangladesh, Nepal) visited the Security Force Headquarters – Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) as a part of their field visits during July 08 – 09.

The intention of the visit is to gain knowledge on an agreement of post-conflict scenario by the armed forces at formation and tactical levels.

On arrival, the visiting students were welcomed by Brigadier S. A. de C. Dasanayake, Brigadier Admin & Quartering (BAQ), SF-KLN.

Afterwards, Colonel P. S. K Sanjeewa, Colonel General Staff (Col GS), SF-KLN conducted a presentation on “Post war scenario and activities done by the Army to uplift the living standards of the people” followed by a healthy question and answering session. 

During the visit, the Military Aid to Civil Community (MACC), another awareness programme was conducted by Commander 571 Brigade, at the Harmony Centre Kilinochchi, touching 5R concept and explaining the roles of the Harmony Centre. 

Further, they visited the Gamini Kularathne Memorial Monument at Elephant Pass and the Victory Monument at Kilinochchi.

Thereafter, the student officers visited the 65 Division Headquarters and witnessed a presentation CIMIC activities at divisional level.

On the second day, the visiting officers listened to a talk on “Handling of post war scenario at tactical level” by the Commanding Officer, 20th Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry (20 SLLI). 

The day’s programme came to an end with a field visit to the 66 Division areas.
